Did you know?

Fact #1: During a rise it can be highly productive to fish in areas highly exposed to the wind. This is because windy weather forces the fish to act fast. As a result the fish become careless and less choosy. This is a secret you can use to your advantage to deadly effect.

Fact # 2: Contrary to popular belief you should not use a dry fly during bright sunshine. The trout will keep away from the sunny surface choosing to feed on nymphs and other food types.

Fact #3: It is a shocking fact that during an established hatch you will catch more fish using a ‘cork-bug’ popping pattern than a dry fly. This is because the popping noise attracts fish already surface striking. The trout are in a feeding frenzy and will strike without close inspection. The noise of the popper is more deadly than its appearance.

Fact #4: Trout also become black orientated towards the end of the season. Therefore you will do well to switch to darker coloured flies in autumn and early winter.
